Fish and Seafood
We are very specific with the fish we choose for the restaurant, only purchasing sustainable fish which is guided by Marine Conservation Society using the Fishonline guide.
We have a local fisherman who catches a selection from around the bay and estuary in Shaldon, which include lobsters, crab, sole, line-caught sea bass, wild caught salmon.
Barry Sessions and his team hand pick mussels, from the Teign which are of the finest quality due to the unique tidal currents in the estuary.
We use a family run company called Britannia Shellfish which are based near the seafront at Beesands for our hand dived scallops and line caught fish. We also use a select few suppliers that are dedicated to supplying the highest quality fresh fish and seafood landed at Brixham, Newlyn and Looe fish markets.

Devon produces some of the best food in Britain, from meat to fish and shellfish, cheese, clotted cream and vegetables, not to mention top class beers, cider and wines. The Devon Food Book explores the stories of some of the people behind this cornucopia of produce. Along with the history of farming, fishing and food production the book paints a fascinating picture of how Devon’s food culture and landscape have evolved together. The story is completed by recipes from some of the county’s most celebrated chefs, featuring these products. This book is available Spring 2010
